Dr. Autumn Savage earned her undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and attended medical school at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed her family medicine residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2015 and subsequently completed her fellowship in geriatric medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital in 2016 – with a considerable portion of her training focused on both the inpatient and outpatient practice of wound care. During her training, Dr. Savage achieved the honor of Top Doc for scoring 100 percent on all patient satisfaction questionnaires, including a perfect overall provider rating.
She first discovered a special interest in wounds while caring for trauma patients in a long- term care unit at John Peter Smith Hospital. Having discovered her passion for wound care, Dr. Savage purposefully tailored her electives during the rest of her residency and fellowship specifically in wound care knowing that she would commit her career to this emerging field upon graduation.
Dr. Savage is currently board certified in geriatrics and family medicine. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Association of Advancement of Wound Care, Wound Healing Society, American Geriatric Association, and American Medical Association. Not only does Dr. Savage currently function as the Chief Medical Officer of Wound Integrity, she also functions in a dual role as the Chief Medical and Operations Officer for Wound Evolution, Wound Integrity’s sister company, which focuses on outpatient, independent wound care clinics.
Her personal interests include spending time with her husband, Charles, young daughters, Adalyn and Harper, and their 2 dogs cheering on the Texas Rangers.
