Insurance & Billing
We Accept Most Major Insurance Plans
Our goal is to make receiving advanced wound care as simple as possible. We accept Medicare and most major commercial insurance plans. Our staff will help verify your benefits and determine whether any prior authorizations are needed before treatment begins.
Commercial Insurance
Many commercial insurance plans require prior authorization for certain wound care services or hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Our team will work directly with your insurance company to obtain any required approvals whenever possible. Coverage and patient responsibility vary by plan.
Medicare
Medicare generally does not require prior authorization for wound care services or hyperbaric oxygen therapy. However, your wound care provider must first evaluate your condition and determine that treatment meets Medicare’s medical necessity guidelines.
Home Health Patients
Patients receiving home health services can typically continue outpatient wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy while remaining on home health. Our team will coordinate with your home health agency to ensure continuity of care.
Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)
Patients utilizing Medicare Part A Skilled Nursing Facility benefits may have limitations regarding outpatient hyperbaric oxygen therapy because these services are generally included under the SNF payment structure. Our team can review your individual situation and discuss available options.
Nursing Home Residents
Residents of nursing homes are often eligible to receive outpatient wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy when medically appropriate. We regularly coordinate care with long-term care facilities.
Financial Questions
If you have questions regarding insurance coverage, deductibles, copays, or out-of-pocket expenses, our staff is happy to assist you before treatment begins whenever possible.
What to Expect
Your first visit includes a comprehensive evaluation by one of our wound care specialists.
During your appointment, we will:
- Review your medical history and current medications.
- Evaluate your wound and identify factors affecting healing.
- Assess circulation, infection risk, and overall health.
- Develop a personalized treatment plan.
- Discuss advanced treatment options if appropriate.
- Answer any questions you or your family may have.
